What you actually get from Resemble Detect
Resemble AI is a Toronto and San Francisco based generative-voice-AI company whose Detect product analyzes audio, image, and video for signs of AI generation or manipulation. It sits inside a broader platform that also includes Resemble Intelligence (analysis of live meetings), Resemble Identity (impersonation search), and Resemble Watermarker, and Detect can be used through the same dashboard, API, or a real-time meeting integration. Unlike most vendors in this category, Resemble publishes actual usage-based unit prices for detection on its public pricing page rather than requiring a sales call to see a number. The company started in voice-generation technology in 2019 and later built its detection stack on that same expertise in synthetic speech.
Resemble Detect pricing
Usage-based pricing. Flex is free to start (pay-as-you-go); Team $350/mo; Business $1,000/mo (cheaper annual); Enterprise is custom quote.
| Plan | Price | What it covers |

Strengths
- One of the few vendors in this category with a real, public, self-serve pricing page showing per-second and per-call unit rates
- Free-to-start Flex plan with no credit card required and credits that never expire
- Detection spans audio, image, and video, plus real-time analysis for live meetings
- Identity enrollment feature lets a customer flag their own voice/face to catch impersonation attempts
- Checks for SynthID watermarks and C2PA provenance records in addition to its own model-based detection
Weaknesses
- Usage-based pricing means costs scale directly with volume; heavy audio/video screening can get expensive at $0.015 to $0.07 per unit
- SSO, meetings intelligence, and org-wide calendar integration are gated behind the $350/mo and $1,000/mo tiers
- On-prem deployment, custom model training, and enterprise SLAs still require a sales conversation
- Pricing page covers the whole Resemble platform (Detect, Intelligence, Identity, Watermarker), so isolating pure detection cost takes some math
Best for
- Developers or teams that want to sign up and pay for detection without a sales call
- Organizations already using Resemble for voice generation who want detection in the same account
- Teams needing live deepfake screening on video meetings, not just uploaded files
Not ideal for
- Buyers who prefer a flat unlimited-use subscription over per-unit metering
- Organizations needing enterprise SLA or on-prem deployment from day one without a sales cycle
- High-volume screening operations where per-second/per-image pricing would compound quickly at lower tiers
The removals Resemble Detect performs are real. They are also temporary
Resemble Detect does remove records, and the removals are genuine. When a listing comes down through this service, it is down. That is worth paying for, and it is not what the criticism below is about.
The problem is durability. Records in this category repopulate, because the listing was never the source. It was a copy of a feed, and the feed is still running. Remove the listing and the same record returns on the next refresh, typically within one to three months, often under a slightly different URL that the original removal ticket no longer covers.
Flat exposure, rising invoice, and both parties calling it maintenance.
That turns a one-time purchase into a treadmill priced as a permanent fix. Count your own listings twice, ninety days apart. Most buyers find exposure flat year over year despite continuous spend: removals and repopulation running at similar rates, with the invoice as the only line that grows. Closing the upstream feed is harder work. It is also the only version that compounds.
Where this lands in 2026
Removal has a second durability problem. A page live long enough to be crawled persists as a citation after the page itself is gone. An assistant then repeats a fact from a record that exists nowhere you can point at. Verify a removal by checking what the models say, not only what the URL returns.
That is why this review sits on the site of a firm that competes with Resemble Detect. The argument is not that Resemble Detect is a bad product. Its category was designed against a version of your problem that no longer describes the whole surface. The part it was never built to cover is the part growing fastest.
A detection score is evidence, not a remedy. The work that ends a deepfake is the takedown chain: platform reports, hosting complaints, registrar escalation, and the paper trail that survives a re-upload.
Key facts
- Founded 2019 by Zohaib Ahmed
- Dual headquarters reported in Toronto and San Francisco/Mountain View
- Raised about $25 million in total funding, including a $13M round backed by Google's AI-focused fund and Okta Ventures
- Publishes per-second/per-image/per-call unit pricing for Detect, Intelligence, Identity, and Watermarker
- Flex plan credits do not expire and require no minimum commitment
Resemble Detect covers one lane. We cover the surface.
You get deepfake & synthetic-media removal as one protocol inside a measured engagement, not as a standalone subscription. Your exposure is measured first against a Bayesian baseline, then the counter-strike work runs, then your surface stays monitored across search, review platforms, and the AI answer layer.
