What you actually get from YouScan
YouScan is a social media listening platform offering text and image-based mention tracking, sentiment and topic analysis, audience demographics, and an Insights Copilot AI assistant built on ChatGPT for querying collected data conversationally. Its signature feature, Visual Insights, uses image recognition to detect brand logos and products appearing in photos and video even when a brand isn't mentioned by name, launched in 2018. Founded in 2009, YouScan built its early reputation as a leading social listening tool in Eastern Europe before expanding internationally with offices including New York, Mexico City, Limassol, and Warsaw, and has been backed by investors including Kinnevik and Vostok New Ventures. The company publishes only plan names, Starter and Unlimited, with feature lists but no prices; every signup routes through a demo request.
YouScan pricing
YouScan does not publish a public rate card. No published price for either the Starter or Unlimited plan; both require requesting a demo.

Strengths
- Visual Insights image-recognition technology detects brand logos and products in photos even without a text mention
- Insights Copilot AI assistant built on ChatGPT for conversational queries against listening data
- Audience Insights breaks down demographics, interests, and occupations of people discussing a brand
- Recognized by Gartner as a Cool AI Vendor for Marketing and a repeat MarTech Breakthrough Award winner for social media monitoring
Weaknesses
- No pricing published anywhere on the site, both plan tiers require a sales demo to get a quote
- Support levels vary by tier, a dedicated Customer Success Manager is reserved for higher-tier accounts
- Strongest brand recognition is in Eastern Europe, less established presence with US enterprise buyers versus Meltwater or Brandwatch
- Entry Starter tier only covers sampled mentions, unlimited sampled data requires the higher Unlimited plan
Best for
- Brands whose products are frequently shown in photos or video without text mentions, such as fashion, beverage, or consumer goods categories
- Buyers who want conversational AI querying of listening data via Insights Copilot
Not ideal for
- Buyers who want to see exact pricing online before requesting a demo
- Small budgets seeking a low-cost self-serve entry plan
The removals YouScan performs are real. They are also temporary
YouScan does remove records, and the removals are genuine. When a listing comes down through this service, it is down. That is worth paying for, and it is not what the criticism below is about.
The problem is durability. Records in this category repopulate, because the listing was never the source. It was a copy of a feed, and the feed is still running. Remove the listing and the same record returns on the next refresh, typically within one to three months, often under a slightly different URL that the original removal ticket no longer covers.
Flat exposure, rising invoice, and both parties calling it maintenance.
That turns a one-time purchase into a treadmill priced as a permanent fix. Count your own listings twice, ninety days apart. Most buyers find exposure flat year over year despite continuous spend: removals and repopulation running at similar rates, with the invoice as the only line that grows. Closing the upstream feed is harder work. It is also the only version that compounds.
Where this lands in 2026
Removal has a second durability problem. A page live long enough to be crawled persists as a citation after the page itself is gone. An assistant then repeats a fact from a record that exists nowhere you can point at. Verify a removal by checking what the models say, not only what the URL returns.
That is why this review sits on the site of a firm that competes with YouScan. The argument is not that YouScan is a bad product. Its category was designed against a version of your problem that no longer describes the whole surface. The part it was never built to cover is the part growing fastest.
Listening platforms are built for marketers counting share of voice. Reputation defense needs the opposite: a low-volume, high-consequence alert on the one post that becomes a crisis, including the closed forums general listening tools never index.

YouScan covers one lane. We cover the surface.
You get sentinel grid monitoring as one protocol inside a measured engagement, not as a standalone subscription. Your exposure is measured first against a Bayesian baseline, then the counter-strike work runs, then your surface stays monitored across search, review platforms, and the AI answer layer.
